The word "mood" can be used to describe a multitude of things in more recent times. Your actual set of emotions, the vibe in your home decor, the filter over a photo, the essence of a particular scene or landscape - it has become very versatile. Whether you're annoyed with the word because of overuse or have slipped it into your daily diction it definitely has a tone. Things that seem more dreary, foggy, and subdued are perfect candidates for this word. There are those who have described personal aesthetics with it and have come to endear the "mood".
Millennials alone have seemed to boost the popularity of this word (as most slang goes) and there doesn't seem to be any signs of stopping. Here, in the photo provided, is a little look into a view I had awhile back in Colorado. An early morning with misty fog is an early morning I will always tend to. The rain was coming in at a delicate speed and everything seemed very still and peaceful.
I can't say that my mood is always so serene, but I really appreciate it when it is.
